Amazon CloudFront CDN Review

Amazon CloudFront is a CDN (content delivery network) provided by Amazon Web Services. CloudFront manages on a pay-as-you-go basis. On November 18, 2008, the service was established in beta. They have servers situated in Europe (Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands and Spain), Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and India), South America and Australia also in many major cities in the US. The service controlled from 52 locations on five continents. They compete with big CDN like Limelight Networks and Akamai. Upon launch, Larry Dignan of ZDNet News declared that CloudFront could cause price and side reductions from CDNs.

Amazon CloudFront Adds Support for Advanced SSL Features: OCSP Stapling, Perfect Forward Secrecy and Session Tickets. Announcing New places in Australia for them, Route 53, and Direct Connect. They Adds Geo Targeting, Device Detection, CORS Support, Host Header Forwarding and many more. Their API Calls Now Supported by AWS CloudTrail. AWS Free Usage Tier now contains Amazon CloudFront. Announcing their usage charts – Data Transfer and Track Trends in Requests. Announcing their SNI Custom SSL – Custom SSL certificate support at no additional Cost. They expand Support for Microsoft Smooth Streaming.
